Outdoor Chair Covers — Keep Every Seat Ready for Whatever Australia Throws at It

Let's be honest — outdoor chairs are the hardest-working pieces of furniture in any Aussie backyard. They're dragged across the deck, left out overnight and baked under the summer sun for months on end. And when the wet season rolls around or a Melbourne cold front moves in, they're usually the last things you think to bring inside. That's exactly where a good set of outdoor chair covers earns its keep.

At Covers & All AU, our patio chair covers aren't generic one-size-fits-most covers that leave half the chair exposed. Every cover is made to the shape and dimensions of your actual chair — wicker dining armchairs, deep seating club chairs, stackable sets, high-back dining chairs, gliders, pod chairs, rocking chairs, egg chairs and more. If it lives on your deck or alfresco, we've got a cover designed around it.

Waterproof Chair Covers That Genuinely Do the Job

Australian conditions are unforgiving. Intense UV on the Gold Coast, coastal salt air in Perth, heavy tropical rain in Darwin — standard covers from overseas simply aren't built for what Australian weather delivers. Our waterproof chair covers are made from 600D to 1000D PVC-coated or PU-coated polyester fabrics, rated 5/5 for UV resistance and waterproofing. Rain, sun, humidity, salt air — all of it handled without cracking, fading or letting moisture through.

Drawstring closures, push clips and rust-free brass grommets keep covers locked down on windy days, and the mould-resistant lining means you can leave them on through the whole winter without anything going musty underneath.

Custom Chair Covers Cut to Your Exact Measurements

This is where custom chair covers change everything. Off-the-shelf covers always mean compromise — too wide here, too short there, always flapping. Our deck chair covers are made to the dimensions you provide, with a built-in 2.5–5 cm leeway for a snug, secure fit every time. Choose your fabric, pick your colour, enter your measurements and it's done. Backed by up to a 10-year warranty and our exclusive Assurance Plus protection, there's no risk to getting it right.

If you're covering the full outdoor setup, browse our complete range of outdoor furniture covers, chaise lounge covers, outdoor table covers, sectional couch covers and outdoor cushion covers — all made to the same standard, same fabrics, same precise fit.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do you measure for chair covers?

Ans: Measure the deepest side, adjacent to the width, from the back to front of the chair. *Start measurement at the top or bottom of the chair back if the furniture has a curvature design. Measure from the ground to the top of the chair. *We recommend a cover 1-2 inches shorter than the furniture for breathability.

2. How do I stop the cover blowing off in the wind?

Ans: All covers come with drawstring closures, push clips or elastic hems to keep them secure. For exposed positions like a balcony, rooftop deck or coastal garden, you can also opt for zipper closures or use the rustproof brass grommets to tie the cover down. Even in strong winds, it stays in place.

3. Can I leave the cover on my chairs year-round, or will that cause mould underneath?

Ans: Year-round use is fine. Most covers include air vents that allow airflow underneath, which prevents moisture and condensation from building up. The fabric itself is also mould and mildew resistant, so leaving it on through a humid Aussie summer or a long wet season won't cause any damage to the cover or the chair underneath.

4. I have a set of six dining chairs , can I order covers for all of them at once?

Ans: Yes. You can order multiple covers in the same dimensions in one go. If your chairs are all the same size, simply select the quantity you need. If a couple are slightly different, you can enter separate measurements for each. Either way, they'll all arrive together.

5. Can chair covers protect against scratches from pets?

Ans: Yes. Durable, tear-resistant fabrics help shield furniture from pet claws, dirt, and everyday wear.
